Picking the Perfect Everyday Foundation

I’d hazard a guess that most of you save your high end (and expensive) products such as Mac & Makeup Forever for nights out and special occasions- I know I do. But I also like to wear makeup everyday, and with all the different brands and types of foundation out there, it can be hard to find the right one for your skin type.
It can be really expensive and wasteful to buy foundations and then find out that they don’t look or last well on your skin. Hopefully the guide below will help you narrow down your search for the perfect everyday foundation!
Normal Skin
We are quite lucky as most foundations work well with our skin. It’s really just a matter of deciding whether we want a matte, dewy or satin finish foundation. But all types should provide good coverage.
Rimmel Lasting Finish is a full coverage foundation and is one of my personal favourites. It's heat and sweat resistant and great for everyday wear. Plus, between Penny’s and the chemists, it can almost always be found on sale!
Oily Skin
If you have oily skin, you’re already naturally producing that ‘dewy’ finish, so you would avoid dewy foundations. I would recommend a matte foundation instead.
L'oreal New Matte Infallible is a good choice as it has a lovely matte texture , but still maintains a lightweight feel, making it perfect for everyday.
Dry Skin
People with dry skin can lack in oils and water so it’s best to go for a foundation fluid based or dewy finish.
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation has a lovely dewy finish, leaving you looking fresh faced.
Rimmel Perfect Match has added moisture and is lightweight. It’s made to match your skin colour and they have a great range of shades. It gives a perfect natural look for everyday wear.
